The site:
BCIMO, Very Light Rail National Innovation Centre

The brief:
To work with the Connected Place Catapult Team and the Clean Futures Team on site at BCIMO to deliver the second annual Demonstration Day. My role was to manage the exhibition build, the logistics of people in/ out and around the building, catering and overall supplier management.

The challenge:
The team had delivered the event previously in 2024, so had high expectations about the set up, look and delivery of the event.
The main challenge is dealing with multiple suppliers, different ideas and opinions and keeping the event to a strict budget.

The solution:
The event was being hosted in a purpose built venue, with conference rooms, exhibition space and most importantly outdoor space for on and off track demos which meant the teams were familiar and confident in the space.
All I had to do was to instil trust in me!
Used shared methods of working, having open conversations and meeting deadlines, meant that the delivery of my element of the event was a success!

The result:
The event looked amazing, had a fabulous turn out and vibe!
The guests loved the food (platters of yumminess) and loved the opportunity to see the demonstrations close up.
